The Sumatran Tiger requires a size 4+ enclosure. Since you had an occupied size 4 enclosure in your zoo, that is the enclosure which is freed when you release it. The game does not remember nor care that you had actually used that size 5 enclosure to play the tiger.

Here's the important thing to remember: an animal never occupies a specific enclosure. Enclosures are just simply occupied.

Yes, I get that, but if there are multiple enclosure options to release an animal while satisfying all the remaining conditions, I should be given a choice. Here, the choice was made automatically without considering future plans.

The game also does not care about your future plans.
Yes, the smallest enclosure that meets the animal's placement requirements is what is selected by the rules. If there are multiple in that size, *that's* when you have a choice. And if you have a specialized enclosure that the animal qualifies for, that is chosen before standard enclosures.
