Hi, thanks for the report and also the video! I can see from the log it says you didn't move any worker, so it would make sense it didn't update the main action value. What's weird is that I can't replicate this, if I load the game and do the exact same thing you did in the video, everything goes smoothly. Did you change any other variable? Do you have any browser extension that could block the website from saving data?

Don't think so though I am not sure what would be considered a variable here.

No, I don't have any extensions that block ads or deal with JavaScript in any way.

I just tried it and it doesn't work so I guess there must be some browser caching or oddity at play. I guess we'll see if someone else ends up opening a similar bug in the future perhaps...?

If it still happens it has to be some issue with rogue session variables. If you're in any way aware of how to use the chrome DevTools (the tab that pops out when you press the F12 key) I could ask you to check a value for me there while the bug is happening. If you're not, no matter, I'm sure that if it's an actual issue it will pop up again and people will add their experience and bring more data.

Just got hit by this in 599686605 (move 175).

TheInquisitor started an action: Use Movement Token.
TheInquisitor paid 1 Movement Token
TheInquisitor spent a Movement Token to move one of their workers.

TheInquisitor spent a Movement Token to move one of their workers.

I used two movement tokens to do nothing. Since I didn't realize this I got to a point where I could no longer undo to reclaim my tokens.

Could you add a check on the movement so that the Confirm button is disabled unless a Rat was actually moved?
Or alternatively if no Rats were moved provide a confirmation question that a token will be used without actually moved any Rat?

Hi, but..did you actually press the confirm button? That's a UX improvement maybe but it's not the culprit here, is it? From what I can remember from the video you never actually got to move any workers, the confirm button was not involved, right? The issue is I really, really can't get this to happen nor has anyone else reported the issue, so it's really hard to understand why you weren't afforded a move action.

And by the way the Confirm button improvement wouldn't have saved you here, from the video I remember the workers were moving in the UI, so the game clearly thinks you are moving, it's just the server which fails to register the confirmation or receives bogus data somehow.

I don't remember.

How is this generated? The UI/server should not allow a move that doesn't actually move anything. Usually you'd get a "moved from Farm to Lair" or something but there's nothing here at all.

Not sure about the 599686605 case. But I rewatched my recording and I did click on the Confirm button.

It's because it's a two step action. You'll notice you can spend a movement token, change your mind, you get back a "move worker" action, that doesn't get used if you cancel it for some reason. The notification you see is from that action starting, but you don't get the notification from that action completing. Somehow this gets interrupted halfway.

I wonder why this is so rare though.

Yeah, I don't know why it seems to only be happening to me. It's pretty annoying and will really screw up your Main Action. :(

This is so weird and inconsistent. We're going into beta in a few days, hopefully (?) someone else reports this so I can pinpoint it, because it really has never happened to me and I guess no other reports seem to indicate something that could be specific to your browser or..maybe the fact you're playing a lot of games?

The only issue is I'm probably taking a break from development during the Christmas holidays, so I hope nothing too big pops up at the same time right now.

We can see from the network requests when nothing happens vs when stuff gets moved. It feels to me like if we send a request back to the server that does not suggest any state was changed then the server should reject the call. I'm not sure if there's a practical reason for someone to want to purposely burn movement tokens.

Activating the token gives you an action, which you can use or not, it does not move the Workers by itself (try spending a token, you get into a move Workers action, cancel the move action, you'll see it's still there as a usable option until you pass the turn).

As for where it breaks for you, it was my guess as well that the issue is client-side, I just never was able to replicate it to actually see what may be wrong in my js code which feels fine to me.

I saw a popup just now saying like "The mouse you tried to move is not allowed" or something but it ultimately still allowed me to confirm. Refreshing the page showed the mice did not move.

Was that a new error dialog you are/were trying to implement to help with this weird bug?

Hi, no I haven't really ever found anything about this one, and it never happened to me. If you saw a popup regarding that action it must have been a safeguard that I had already added previously. Has this kept happening to you?

This is also happening to me. I have tried spending the movement token, moving the mouse, and then when I try to take the action, it moves the mouse back to its original location. It's stuck. I cannot take the action I need to take.

When using a move token, you can select the command before the move, but you cannot select the destination.

Hmm.. I tried this and actually work
Use move token > click the worker space u want to move > click the destination > confirm > and then refresh the game

Suddenly worker move to destination space 😵‍💫

Hi, sorry for the inconvenience. Sadly an update on BGA's server code caused some games to break and Rats of Wistar was one of the ones getting hit. I'm working to restore functionality. Let me know if other game functions are still breaking.
