I played a card I couldn't pay heat for. After acknowledging that, my turn was redone with that card replaced by what I drew from my deck. I suspect, though, that redoing the turn did not account for the stress symbol already resolved earlier in the turn, so I was only given credit for one when using Accelerate.

That's not a bug. This is not a stress card, you just resolve them as such but they dont have such a symbol.

Played a test game, and determined this is NOT a bug. We did this with 2 stress before the replay, and acceleration then offered up a boost of 2 afterward. Happy to have that rule clarified.

The only issue is that in the game log text:

...it says to resolve this situation as stress, and shows the + symbol, which implies Accelerate should include it, but Accelerate does not include it.

boardgamearena.com/1/heat?table=619273005&replayFrom=163 --- this is the turn where it happens.

Accelerate could have 3 possible values here:
+1 -- bug, ignoring already played stress and only using the + from the card where heat could not be paid. This does not happen.
+2 - All expected + symbols are used for Accelerate. This is what happened, and seems the best reading of the rules.
+3 - All expected + symboks are used, plus the one for the card where heat could not be played. This is kind of what would be expected from reading the game log, but the implementation, and the rules saying both "accidentally" and "same process as when you play a +" rather than "as a +" both point to not counting this card as stress for accelerate.
