Also, the game options were set to "Soft Koi" which meant that had it been counted as if I'd chosen "Koi-Koi" (continue) it would have incremented my multiplier from 4 to 5, but the multiplier remained 4. So it's not as if it chose "Koi-Koi" for me, but rather that it didn't register the Yaku at all.
