The JS bug referenced appears to be something internal to the BoardGameArena side of the code. I can't repro the issue on the current build. Perhaps this was a transient issue with the BGA platform?

Specifically, the 8th parameter to the gameui.completeetup method call is missing (after socketio in the below snippet, as taken from JS console debugger from the table this bug report references):

Is there a way to abandon the game without being able to access it?

One thing that both the above reports have in common is that they appear to be based on the originally deployed Alpha version of the game, 200827-1154. If possible, I'd be curious to know if this is still happening on the current build, 200829-2253. You can check this by looking in the lower-left corner of the Game Table page once you have created a new table, under GAME INFO.

I have closed all non-loading games. If it was a version issue, next games should be fine.
@lanizer: this parameter corresponds to the gamedatas returned by getAllDatas. Maybe in some cases it sends an empty result?

@Een, thanks for the information, I'll take a look. I was able to play a couple games last night without issue, so hopefully it was just an old version problem.

I found this thread after having the same issue.

It's definitely caused by getAllDatas() in php with the symptoms showing up in the javascript when the data returned is parsed improperly.

This will reproduce it assuming your db has the similar content:

From the dump (copied below), it looks like -1 is maybe getting assigned to the player_beginner column in the db as a string instead of a signed int. The getAllDatas() function returns as intended, but the javascript can't handle the data it's getting. For convenience while developing, I was doing "SELECT * FROM player" planning to narrow the query later. This picked up the column even though I have no actual use for it.

To anyone coming across this thread later, the easiest workaround is to simply change your query to exclude the column. Though I would consider this to be a bug that needs to be addressed on BGA's end.

Closing this as it appears to be a BGA platform issue and I haven't been able to repro it on my latest builds.

The game worked fine when we've tried it several days ago. But today none of us could play it (table #130100118) - bidding went fine, but after that all the interface became frozen, and we could abandon it only by logging one by one on the only other notebook with another OS (and browser respectively)...
