Expected behavior :
- Be able to see the cards (mage and artefacts) and choose my mage even if my opponents haven't chosen their yet to make simultaneously choice possible.
- Or don't be mention as 'active player' if implemented rule is that each player choose his mage one by one.

There is some kind of animation to draw monument and place of power. According to the first display, it seems to me your browser wasn't able to go until the end of the animation.

You mention chrome as your internet browser. Can you confirme ?

Here is the parameter of the browser used : zupimages.net/viewer.php?id=20/48/bss4.png (use on a MacBook Air).

It seems that a Chrome update is available. I'll try to update it, and launch other games to see if the issue happens again.

I'll inform you here in the commentary section of the result soon.

By the way, thanks for your work on Res Arcana ! :)

Ok. There are some options you can use to skip the introduction animation or reduce in-game animation, it can help you to enjoy the game while we try to propose a fix.

In the game preference from the menu :
- Game Start Animation : Disable
- Visual Effects : Reduce or Lowest.

I had a similar issue, with the first game setup - choosing the starting magic item, I had to refresh after my opponent chose theirs before I could see the game setup, including my hand, places of power, etc.

I just played a normal game at boardgamearena.com/table?table=127167466

On loading, this was my screen imgur.com/EqpJplu
and it remained this way until my opponent (who was the start player) chose their mage and and I reloaded.

Could you all please :
- Set back the game start animation option to Enabled
- Start a new table on the new version

And tell us :

- Did the animation play to the end ?
- Did the monuments and/or magic items appeared one-by-one with "flip" animation, or all at once ?

I've had a chance to start two games. In the first, I think I was the start player, and there was no animation. That game ended up abandoned, so I don't have the table number/replay. In the second game, I was the second player and got animation, with the monuments/magic items/places of power flipping one by one.

In the replays for that table, 128106505, if you replay as me, you get the animations; if you replay as my opponent, you do not.

Another game, draft, I'm the second player, no animations. Looking at the replay, the other player gets the animations.

This is expected behaviour, the animation plays only if there are zero moves played.

As long as someone drafts/selects his first card, the animation won't play on other player's games as the game already started.
