I tried initiate a 'New Mine' action with the survey card played from my hand (not drawing from the deck)

I selected a mine tile (the leftmost from Area A), selected my A type survey card, and then clicked the "Play card and peek" button.
Nothing happened.
It's a 2-player game, and we both have 20+ money, 2 free mine markers, and 5/6 actions
The tile is face-down. It has not even been peeked by either of us.

The same occurred when selecting an also face-down mine tile from Area B.
