I was trying to mine ore. Through some bizarre sequence of mouse clicks the game interpreted that I was selecting to mine one tin, though the mine offered several tin and copper. The game then allowed me to do so, without a warning that I was entitled to mine *two* ore. I can understand that there might be some tactical reason to mine fewer ore than what is possible, but the game should at least *check* that this was the intention.
