I assumed the magnifying glasses with "+" and "-" on the upper right hand corner of the screen was to expand and shrink the play area, but they do not work at all.

Ctrl + scroll wheel also doesn't work.

The only thing that works is to click + hold and drag to move the display around.

Expanding/shrinking (especially with scroll wheel) will be helpful. "+" and "-" magnifying glass will be next best option.
