I believe that there would be value in balancing the initial hand draw by adding a drafting option (rule) for starting the game. In this, each player would choose a card of the 6 avaliable and pass the remaining 5 to the next player in turn order. Then each player would select 1 of those cards for their hand and pass the remaining 4 to the next player in turn order. Repeating this process until they have choosen all 6 cards. This would allow players to better balance out the starting hand.

We started doing this at our in-person games and found that it added a little balance to getting a poor first drawing of cards.
